Derek Noyes practises in Labour and Employment, Real Estate, Indigenous, and Environmental Law. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria in 2010 and was called to the bar in British Columbia in 2011 and Ontario in 2012.
Derek is known for his practical, proactive approach, helping clients address issues early and move matters forward with confidence. In labour and employment law, he has advised and represented clients in grievances, collective bargaining, certification matters, strikes, and lockouts. His real estate practice is hands-on and client-focused, with an emphasis on keeping transactions smooth and resolving issues efficiently when they arise. When necessary, Derek is also prepared to advocate before courts, tribunals, and boards to protect his clients’ interests.

Evan Juurakko practises in Indigenous and First Nations law, civil litigation, corporate and commercial law, real estate, and wills and estates. His broad practice allows him to assist clients with a wide range of legal needs, from business and property matters to disputes, estate planning, and work involving Indigenous communities and organizations.
Evan is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Ontario Bar Association, Law Society of Ontario, and Thunder Bay Law Association. He is also involved in the Ontario Bar Association’s Indigenous Law, Business Law, Construction Law, and Real Property Law sections, reflecting his commitment to staying informed across the areas in which he serves clients.

Evan A. Juurakko

Ryan Venn practises in estate planning, estates administration, estate litigation, civil litigation, and residential real estate. He works closely with clients to develop thoughtful estate plans and regularly advises executors, trustees, and beneficiaries on their rights, responsibilities, and obligations.
Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ryan attended PACI before completing the Funeral Service Education Program at Humber College and building a successful 20-year career as a Funeral Director. He later earned his Juris Doctor from Lakehead University’s Bora Laskin Faculty of Law in 2018 and was called to the Ontario Bar in January 2019. Ryan is a member of several legal associations and remains active in the community through board and committee service.

Ted Scollie practises in Indigenous, Corporate and Commercial, and Labour and Employment law. He advises clients on business organization, commercial transactions, financing, and employment matters, with extensive experience supporting First Nations communities, organizations, businesses, and non-profits across Northern Ontario. His work has included counsel on commercial acquisitions, business structures, bank financing, and the organization and reorganization of non-profit entities.
Ted earned a Bachelor of Science from Lakehead University in 1989 and his J.D. from the University of Toronto in 1992. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1994. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Thunder Bay Law Association, and is a founding member and advisor to The Indigenous Law and Advocacy Program at Negahneewin College.

Kristofer Evans practises in residential and commercial real estate, wills and estates, powers of attorney, corporate law, and landlord and tenant disputes. He works with clients on a range of legal matters, offering practical guidance on property transactions, business matters, and personal planning.
Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Kristofer attended Westgate Collegiate and Vocational Institute before earning an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from Lakehead University in 2008. He went on to study law at Cardiff University in Wales, graduating in 2012. After returning to Thunder Bay, Kristofer completed his accreditation through the National Committee on Accreditation, articled locally, and was called to the Bar of Ontario in January 2014. Outside the office, he enjoys sports and the outdoors.

Randall Johns

Randall Johns practises in business law, commercial and residential real estate, civil and family litigation, and estate law. He brings clients a broad professional background that combines legal, accounting, and banking experience, offering practical insight across a wide range of matters.
Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Randall earned an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from Lakehead University before completing his law degree at the University of Toronto in 1977. He was called to the Ontario bar in 1979, later earned his Chartered Accountant designation in 1982, and also worked in commercial banking before returning to Thunder Bay in 1984. Randall began practising locally in 1985 and went on to build a long-standing legal career, including many years leading his own practice.

Morris Holervich practises in corporate and commercial litigation and estate litigation. With more than 30 years of experience, he represents clients in complex disputes involving shareholder matters, construction claims, debt collection, security enforcement, land ownership and use, will interpretation, estate administration, powers of attorney, and guardianship issues.
Morris is known for his thoughtful, strategic approach, carefully assessing each matter and pursuing practical, cost-effective solutions wherever possible. He has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Federal Court of Canada, and a range of provincial and federal administrative tribunals. Morris earned undergraduate degrees from Queen’s University, received his LL.B. from the University of Ottawa in 1985, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1987.

Matthew Smiley practises in civil litigation, personal injury, and labour and employment litigation. He represents clients in a range of dispute matters and has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court, Small Claims Court, and Ontario Provincial Offences Court.
Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Matthew earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lakehead University in 2014 before completing his law degree at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law. He was called to the bar in Ontario in 2018. Matthew is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, Canadian Bar Association, Thunder Bay Law Association, and Ontario Trial Lawyers Association. Outside the office, he enjoys time with family, walking his dogs, golfing, and working on home renovations.

Matthew Suchan

Matthew Suchan practises in civil litigation, with a focus on labour and employment and personal injury matters. Since being called to the Ontario bar in October 2024, he has developed a broad litigation practice that also includes tenancy matters, helping clients navigate disputes with a practical and approachable style.
Raised in Southern Ontario, Matthew earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from McGill University in 2021 and later moved to Thunder Bay to attend the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University. He graduated in 2024 with a specialization in Indigenous and Aboriginal legal studies. During law school, he served in student leadership roles and helped establish the first Gladue course offered at a Canadian law school.

Bradly Cryderman

Brad Cryderman practises in corporate and commercial law, labour and employment law, and Indigenous law. His practice reflects a strong interest in helping clients navigate business, workplace, and community-related legal matters with a thoughtful and practical approach.
Born and raised in Ingleside, Ontario, Brad earned an Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences from the University of Ottawa, with a major in Criminology and a minor in Psychology. He later moved to Thunder Bay to attend the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2024 along with a specialization in Indigenous and Aboriginal legal studies. His time in Northwestern Ontario helped shape a strong commitment to supporting First Nation communities.

Philippe Savage

Philippe Savage practises in wills, estates, and real estate. He helps clients with estate planning and administration, as well as residential real estate matters including purchases, sales, and title amendments. He is proud to offer legal services in both French and English.
Born in North Bay and raised in Dryden, Philippe has strong roots in Northern Ontario. He earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Lakehead University in 2021, then completed his Juris Doctor at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law in 2024 before being called to the Ontario Bar in 2025. His interest in wills and estates grew from his experience working at a family-owned funeral home, where he saw the importance of thoughtful planning for families and loved ones.

Andrew Paddon

Andrew Paddon practises in wills and estates and real estate. He works closely with clients to understand their goals and guide them through important decisions, whether they are purchasing a home or planning their estate. His experience in litigation also allows him to provide practical advice with an eye to resolving issues effectively if disputes arise.
Originally from North Bay, Andrew earned a Bachelor of Arts in Law from Carleton University in 2023, along with the Senate Medal for Outstanding Academic Achievement. He later moved to Thunder Bay to attend the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law, where he completed his J.D. in 2025. Andrew was called to the Ontario Bar that same year and joined Ericksons as an Associate Lawyer.
